This program allowed me to have a growing appreciation for reading starting at a young age. As the summer approaches for any young student, they normally look forward to doing things that have nothing to do with school. So when I first heard about this program, you can assume I was not ecstatic to join. However, during the two summers I spent in the program what I enjoyed the most was the freedom of choice. I looked forward to choosing all six books I would get to read and keep, and eventually as you go through book after book, it got fun. What I didn’t realize in the end was that when I started a new school year after the Read to Succeed program, I never felt like I was behind academically. Not only did my enjoyment for reading increase but so did the quality of work I was producing in class, and it was exponential from there. Read to Succeed stayed with me well after middle school. With the funds I received from the summer program, additional scholarships, and paid fellowships I was able to afford four years of college, without asking my parents for financial support.

When students are ready to start researching and applying to colleges, they can consider Bryant University and Salve Regina University! Through a unique partnership, if a student enrolls at Bryant University, they not only receive their financial aid package, but also receive a one-to-one match of Read to Succeed CollegeBound Saver funds.

Community Preparatory School along with Read to Succeed has provided me with a solid foundation that has allowed me to excel academically. With the help of Read to Succeed, I am able to pursue my passion of medicine and engage in valuable opportunities I am very fortunate to have. Through my experiences with Read to Succeed, I have learned that with hard work and dedication possibilities are endless. I am forever thankful for all that has been given to me through this wonderful program and hope that many more children are able to participate in what is has to offer as well. Moreover, donations are essential to the flourishment of numerous underprivileged students who want to be successful despite having financial difficulties. One donation can make an immense impact on a student's life and changing someone's future for the better is one of the best beauties of life. Thank you.
